Controversial Scene Stays in The Social Network
Watch The Social Network is often referred to as "the Facebook movie" despite the site's co-founder, and subject of the movie, Mark Zuckerberg wishing it wasn't. The movie was based on court documents and journalist Ben Mezrich's reportedly semi-fictionalized novel, The Accidental Billionaires, and Zuckerberg has publicly announced on several occasions that the movie is a work of fiction and not the truth.

With a script from Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men) and direction from David Fincher, The Social Network is poised to open in October at the New York Film Festival, and, according to The New York Times last week, without a controversial and debaucherous scene that includes Justin Timberlake.

watch the social network

Columbia Pictures has just launched a new official website for their new movie “Watch The Social Network Online”. The movie which is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 1, 2010 has been getting a whole lot of attention. At first it garnered so much news and media coverage simply because Facebook is so large. With 500,000 million members on Facebook, that’s already a huge amount of people that are going to be at least slightly interested to see what the movie is all about. Then there have been rave reviews from magazines, newspapers, and websites, that have made people become even more interested in seeing the film.

On the new website, which is themed a little bit like Facebook itself, you can view photos of different scenes in the movie, read the latest news, and watch the new trailers as they are released.

The movie is expected to be a big hit. It doesn’t have too many star actors in. The 5 main stars would be Jesse Eisenberg (who plays Mark Zuckerberg), Justin Timberlake, Rashida Jones, Rooney Mara and Andrew Garfield.

The website located at TheSocialNetwork-Movie.com features several “Watch The Social Network” trailers.
